Powderpuff Football

The Wildcats of East Chapel Hill will host their annual Powderpuff football games, putting Junior and Senior females against each other and the younger classes, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.

NOVEMBER 11

Men's Basketball: JV hosts Mount Olive, 6 p.m., and the Carolina Varsity hosts N.C. Central at 9 p.m.

Information please: Carrboro High School will host an informational meeting with coaches and the athletic director for all parents and students intersted in any winter sport at the school, 6:30 p.m. in the CHS Media Center.

NOVEMBER 12

Big 10-ACC Alumni Golf Challenge

The Governor Club's third annual match-play event, featuring alums of all the Big 10 and ACC schools, will be held Nov. 12 on the GCGC course, a Jack Nicklaus 27-hole beauty that winds through the wooded hills of North Chatham. Even non-golfers enjoy the spectacular view overlooking the Coastal Plain from Edwards Mountain.

Go Fish

Carrboro Recreation will host a free fishing clinic for kids 15 and under from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Anderson Park. Kids can bring their own pole or borrow one from the rec department.

Swimming: The varsity season gets off to fast start with the teams from Chapel Hill and East Chapel Hill meeting in their annual exhibition, where the scores don't matter nearly as much as doing well against others who are often erstwhile teammates from club teams, starting at 5 p.m. in the Homestead Aquatic Center.

Eve Carson 5K

The Eve Carson Memorial 5K road race is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 21, starting at 10 a.m. (registration opens at 8 a.m.) in front of South Building on UNC's campus. The event celebrates the leadership of former UNC Student Body President of Eve Carson, who was killed in 2008. For more, visit .

The "Double B" Gallop and Gorge 8K road race, starting from the Fleet Feet Carrboro Store at 8 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 26, marks the last of three events in the Cardinal Track Club's ( www.cardinaltrack.com) Tour de Carrboro.

Skipping Spectacular
