- A residential break-in was reported Saturday on the 200 block of Westbrook Drive. According to a police report, it appears someone climbed up the deck and entered through an unlocked porch door. Approximately $1,560 worth of belongings was reported missing.
- Nicholas Eugene White, 30, of 501 N.C. 54, was arrested Saturday and charged with misdemeanor larceny from a Rite Aid on the 600 block of Jones Ferry Road. He was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $300 bail.
- Jorge Alejandro Balderas, 40, of 3608 Knollwood Drive, Durham, was arrested Saturday and charged with driving while impaired. According to a police report, his blood alcohol level was recorded at 0.14. He was released on a written promise to appear in court.
- Two tip jars, valued at approximately $50, were reported taken Saturday from the Latin Grill Taqueria vehicle parked on the 300 block of North Greensboro Street.
- Phyllis Marlene Atkinson, 53, who told police she was homeless, was arrested Saturday and charged with misdemeanor larceny. She was released on a written promise to appear.
- All four tires were reported stolen Monday from a blue Chevrolet Caprice on the 500 block of Jones Ferry Road. According to a police report, the owner of the vehicle came out of his house to find the car on cement blocks.
- A business break in was reported Monday to Marley's Hair Design on the 200 block of West Main Street. According to a police report, glass in the front had been broken out and $45 in cash was taken.
- Timothy Rama Nielsen, 32, of 200 Britton Drive, was arrested Tuesday and charged with driving while impaired. His blood alcohol level was 0.13, according to a police report. He was released on a written promise to appear.
CHAPEL HILL
- In the last week 10 houses were broken into at the following locations: the 100 block of West Rosemary Street, the 400 block of West Cameron Avenue, the first block of Davie Circle, the 400 block of Wesley Drive, the 200 block of Jay Street, the 100 block of Garden Street, the 600 block of Hillsborough Avenue, the 1900 block of Homestead Road, and two on the 100 block of Ridge Trail.
- The following business break-ins were reported in the last week: a beauty salon on the 1200 block of Raleigh Road, a retail business on the 1800 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, and an auto garage on the 700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
- Vehicle break-ins were reported at the following locations: the 1400 block of Arborgate Circle, the 3000 block of Drew Lane, and the 1000 block of Drew Lane.
- A 1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, valued at $4,000, was reported stolen last Thursday from a driveway on the 100 block of Billie Holiday Court.
- A ballistic vest, valued at $500, was reported stolen last Thursday from a residence on the 200 block of Greene Street.
- According to a police report, a person made money last Thursday from the fraudulent sale of an animal.
- A robbery was reported Friday at a liquor store on the 100 block of East Franklin Street. According to a police report, someone entered the store, assaulted an employee and stole cash from the register.
- A dog was reported stolen Saturday from a residence on the 500 block of Craig Street.
- Construction materials and equipment, valued at $10,000, were reported stolen Monday from a construction site at the intersection of Dobbins Drive and Erwin Road.
