HILLSBOROUGH -- UNC Family Medicine at Hillsborough, which offers a full spectrum of primary care for the entire family, will officially open Thursday, May 1. The Hillsborough location will allow a broader range of people to receive care from a UNC Health Care practice, said Dr. Allen Daugird, medical director and vice president of ambulatory care. "There continues to be significant growth in western and northern Orange County," Daugird said. "UNC Health Care wants to help meet the needs of that growing population, and this new primary care UNC practice is one way to do that. We are excited to be part of the Hillsborough community."

The new clinic, located at 2201 Old N.C. 86, is staffed by Dr. Lauren Lingley, medical director, Dr. Kia Williams and Paul Dunn, Family Nurse Practitioner. All are faculty members in the Department of Family Medicine in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, with admitting privileges at UNC Hospitals.

Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., by appointment. Special services include prenatal care (individual and group classes), colposcopy, skin procedures and diabetes testing and education.
