- Nathaniel White Brown, 58, of 609 Bynum St., Chapel Hill, was arrested Tuesday and charged with breaking and entering, failure to appear in court and two counts of resisting arrest. According to a police report, an officer was checking on the warrant when Brown ran into the woods. He was tased and placed in custody. He was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $58,000 bail.
- Brandie Michelle Parker, 31, of 306 Estes Drive Extension, was arrested Tuesday and charged with possession of stolen goods. According to a police report, she displayed a stolen license plate on her car and had warrants for her arrest from Durham and Hillsborough. She was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.
- Brian Carter Gaj, 24, of 3 Woodward Way, Chapel Hill, was arrested Wednesday and charged with driving while impaired. According to a police report, his blood-alcohol level was 0.27. The state standard for impairment is 0.08. He was released on a written promise to appear in court.
- Meat products, including rib-eye steaks, valued at $55 were reported stolen from the Food Lion on the 600 block of Jones Ferry Road.
- A check forgery was reported Wednesday by Weaver Street Realty. The business realized that someone counterfeited a check two months ago that looked very similar to a business check and used an actual check number to cash an undisclosed amount of money.
- An assault was reported Wednesday on West Main Street in Carrboro. According to a police report, a bicyclist slammed his bike into the side of an SUV and tried to grab the driver.
- Richard Calvin Edwards, 38, of the streets of Carrboro, was arrested Wednesday and charged with misdemeanor shoplifting. According to a police report, he took three T-bone steaks from a grocery store. He was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $200 bail.
- James Lorenzo Little, 19, of 305 Barclay Road, Chapel Hill, was arrested Wednesday and charged with the felony of fleeing from a police car, resisting arrest and driving with a suspended license. He was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
- Jasmine Lea Smith, 18, of 9004 Habitat Circle, was arrested Wednesday and charged with possession of marijuana. She was released on a written promise to appear.
- Crisanto Hernandez Sanchez, 33, of 501 Jones Ferry Road, was arrested Thursday and charged with going armed to the terror of the public, assault with a deadly weapon, communicating threats and intoxicated and disruptive behavior. According to a police report, he waved a samurai sword in a public area on the 400 block of Jones Ferry Road and was verbally abusive when taken into custody. He was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
CHAPEL HILL
- In the last week, residential break-ins were reported on the 400 block of Summerwalk Circle, the 2400 block of Springview Trail, the 100 block of Fan Branch Lane, the 2400 block of Foxwood Drive, the first block of Perkins Drive and the 100 block of Weaver Dairy Road. Yard equipment was reported stolen from three of the residences.
- In the last week, car break-ins were reported on the 1700 block of North Fordham Boulevard and the 100 block of Saint Andrews Road.
- A robbery was reported Friday in a parking lot area of Weatherstone Drive. According to a police report, people with guns stole $50 from two pedestrians.
- An employee of the McDonald's on Fordham Boulevard was trespassed from the business' property after cursing at a manager, according to a police report.
- William David Holland, 21, of 4418 Aldridge Store Road, La Grange, was arrested Wednesday and charged with drunk and disruptive behavior, urinating in public and resisting arrest. He was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $200 bail.
- Taumafaalofi Aofaga Leasiolagi, 18, of 2201 Pisgah Church Road, Greensboro, was arrested Wednesday and charged with felony armed robbery. He was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $4,000 bail.
- Patrick Cole Clark, 17, of 3708 Hazel Lane, Greensboro, was arrested Wednesday and charged with armed robbery and felony breaking and entering. He was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $4,000 bail.
- Ryan Craig Gartrell, 18, of 5122 Southwind Road, Greensboro, was arrested Wednesday and charged with armed robbery and felony breaking and entering. He was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $4,000 bail.
- Jamaal Antonio Bethea, 26, of 109 Park Road, was arrested Wednesday and charged with felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, maintaining a dwelling for distributing marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
- Christopher James Hoke, 16, of 123 Balsam Court, was arrested Wednesday and charged with possession of Schedule II drugs. According to a police report, he was found in possession 0.5 grams of cocaine. He was released on an unsecured bond.
- Edil Danilo Martinez Vanegas, 20, of 303 Pinegate Circle, and Marcano Luis, 50, of the same address, were arrested Thursday and each charged with felony vehicle breaking and entering, felony larceny, and felony possession of stolen goods. They were each held in Orange County jail in lieu of $30,000 bail.
- Travis Alan Porter, 23, of 500 Umstead Road, was arrested Thursday and charged with driving while impaired. According to a police report, his blood-alcohol level was 0.16. He was released on a written promise to appear in court.
- Biniam Zeratzion Tekola, 24, of 117 E. Longview St., was arrested Thursday and charged with simple assault. He was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $350 bail.
- Jaquay Lamar Blacknall, 18, of 3203 Bach Terrace, Greensboro, was arrested Thursday and charged with assault at gunpoint and felony breaking and entering. He was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $200,000 bail.
