CARRBORO
  • Two vehicle break-ins were reported in the last week, both on the 600 block of Jones Ferry Road.
  • Two residential break-ins occurred in the past week, one on the 400 block of Jones Ferry Road and the other on the 500 block of South Greensboro Street.
  • Troy Arrington Jr., 21, of 507 Edwards Drive, Chapel Hill, was arrested Friday and charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. He was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.
  • Nicholas Daniel Long, 18, of 4024 S. Roxboro Road, Durham, was arrested Saturday and charged with possession of marijuana. He was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $500 bail.
  • Amanda Kay Abbott, 24, of the streets of Carrboro, and Todd Chantral Cates, 38, of 5501 Kimmont Drive, Durham, were arrested Sunday and charged with stealing beer from the Harris Teeter on the 300 block of North Greensboro Street. They were held in Orange County jail in lieu of $250 bail each.
  • Tonya Kay Starr, 25, of 1105 N.C. 54 West, and Jessica Renee Starr, 21, of 1105 N.C. 54 West, were arrested Sunday and charged with misdemeanor shoplifting. According to a police report, they took a bag filled with groceries valued at $34.34. They were cited and released.
  • Selina Chimika Mhango, 27, of 704 N. Greensboro St., was arrested Monday and charged with driving while impaired. Her blood-alcohol level was not listed in the police report. The standard for impairment North Carolina is 0.08. She was taken before a magistrate and released.
  • Ten bicycles, valued at $100, were reported stolen Monday from the Recyclery bike shop on the 100 block of Old Pittsboro Road. Graffiti was also found on the side of the building and there was $900 in damage done to a solar panel on the roof of the building.

CHAPEL HILL
  • Business break-ins were reported in the past week on the 400 block of Meadowmont Court (three reports) and the 2400 block of Springview Terrace.
  • Vehicle break-ins were reported in the last week on the 2700 block of Homestead Road and the 1800 block of North Fordham Boulevard.
  • An arson incident was reported Monday on the 200 block of North Estes Drive. Someone threw fireworks under the hood of a car and acused fire damage, according to a police report.
  • An assault was reported Monday at the intersection of Highgrove Road and Hillspring Lane. Someone assaulted a woman with a hotdog, according to a police report.
  • A vandalism incident was reported Monday on the 100 block of Meadowbrook Drive. Fireworks were detonated in a mailbox, according to a police report, and caused $100 in damage.
  • Stephanie Lynn Barnes, 21, of 212 Hillcrest Circle, was arrested Saturday and charged with stalking and making harassing phone calls. She was released on a written promise to appear in court.
  • Domenco Deleto, 35, of 1511 Smith Level Road, was arrested Saturday and charged with felony breaking and entering into a vehicle, felony larceny and possession of stolen goods. According to a police report, he was stopped after driving a tractor away from a construction site. He was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $7,500 bail.
  • Sherwood Louis Weaver, 44, of 424 Hanson Road, Durham, was arrested Friday and charged with felony possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while impaired, resisting arrest, driving with improper registration and driving on a suspended license. According to a police report, officers found 14.2 grams of cocaine on him. He was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
  • Elijah Davis, 45, of 732 N. Columbia St., was arrested Saturday and charged with drunk and disruptive behavior, resisting arrest and obstructing traffic. He was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $150 bail.
  • Antonio Maurice Burnette, 22, of 8707 Orange Grove Road, was arrested Friday and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. According to a police report, he was found in possession of 2.2 grams of crack cocaine. He was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
  • Mekesion Damaar Castion, 21, of 17 Old University Station Road, was arrested Friday and charged with resisting arrest, reckless driving and driving with improper registration. He was released on a written promise to appear in court.
  • Jinnie Frances Burnette, 47, of 1312 Lady Di's Drive, was arrested Friday and charged with assault on a government official and resisting arrest. She was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
  • Allen Jamaal Hubbard, 45, of 512 Craig St., was arrested Monday and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and damage to personal property. He was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.
