CARRBORO
  • Lester Fuller, 46, of 2565 N.C. 87 in Pittsboro was arrested Friday on Pleasant Drive and charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine and maintaining a vehicle for the sale of controlled substances. According to a police report, an officer found a woman in Fuller's car was holding crack rocks, and she stated that they belonged to Fuller, who has a convicted history of selling crack cocaine via female accomplices. He was held in Orange County Jail in lieu of $3,000 bail.
  • Leroy Allen Lunceford, 21, of 4 Dry Lane in Durham was arrested Friday on Jones Ferry Road at N.C. 54 and charged with driving while impaired and transporting spirituous liquor. According to a police report, Lunceford's blood-alcohol level was 0.10. The state standard is 0.08. He was released on a written promise to appear in court.
  • Richard Lee Dodgin, 49, of 150 E. Franklin St. was arrested Friday on East Franklin Street and charged with driving while impaired. According to a police report, his blood-alcohol level was 0.14. He was released on a written promise to appear in court.
  • Dario Eulogio Cruz, 26, of 200 Barnes St. B13, was arrested Saturday afternoon on Pine Street and charged with driving with a revoked license and giving false information to police. According to a police report, Cruz was pulled over for having tinted windows past the legal limit. He stated he had no identification but produced what turned out to be a fake name. His wife was in the car and she handed the officer correct identification. Carrboro police discovered his real identity and that he was wanted for a probation violation because his wife was documented as having visited him in jail.

    According to the police report, however, when the officer returned to discuss this with the couple, each suddenly acted as though they didn't speak English, despite having communicated effectively with the officer until that point. Cruz was held in Orange County Jail with no bond.

  • Cornelius Clay Brigman, 22, of 122 Frank Lane in Clinton, was arrested Saturday evening on Lantern Way and charged with driving while impaired and reckless driving. According to a police report, Brigman "nearly hit" children on bicycles on the street and had a blood-alcohol level of 0.27. He was held in Orange County Jail in lieu of $250 bail.
  • A Carrboro officer happened to be at the Bojangles on South Churton Street in Hillsborough Saturday when an armed robbery occurred at nearby Domino's Pizza. A Hillsborough police officer pulled over a car with two suspects but the passenger got out and fled on foot. The Carrboro officer, Joe Thomas, was able to pursue and eventually tackle and handcuff the man, holding him until Hillsborough officers took him into custody.
  • Katherine Lee Williamson, 20, of 2000 N. Lakeshore Drive, was arrested Sunday at the intersection of South Greensboro Street and Rand Road and charged with driving while impaired. According to a police report, Williamson was clocked going 55 miles per hour in 35-mph zone, and she refused a breathalyzer test but fell when asked to stand on one leg. She was released on a written promise to appear in court.
  • Ariel Ramirez Gomez, 26, of 501 Jones Ferry Road N-7, was arrested Monday morning and charged with driving while impaired, failing to comply with license restrictions and failing to obey a traffic officer. According to a police report, an accident had occurred on Greensboro Street and police had blocked off the scene with cones, but Gomez drove through them despite an officer yelling for him to stop. His blood-alcohol level was 0.13, and he was released on a written promise to appear in court.

  • Several air conditioning units were stolen from businesses this weekend, totaling thousands of dollars in stolen value. Five units valued at a combined $15,000 were reported stolen Friday from the North Carolina Subway Group on Eastowne Drive, and two units worth $7,000 were reported stolen from Philip Post and Associates on Providence Road. Then another two units totaling $7,000 in value were reported stolen Saturday from La Hacienda restaurant on Chapel Hill Boulevard.
  • Lamont William Alston, 18, of 703 Gomains Ave. B, was arrested Friday at the intersection of Sykes and Whitaker Streets. Police had four outstanding warrants for Alston to be charged with possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a handgun by a minor, possession of weapons on town property and failure to appear in court. He was held in Orange County Jail in lieu of $1,350 bail.
  • Cardell Obryan Baldwin, 18, of 317 Bound Brook Drive in Efland, was arrested Friday night at the intersection of BPW Club and Smith Level Roads and charged with possession of marijuana as well as possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine. Baldwin, who according to a police report was found with a large amount of crack cocaine, was held in Orange County Jail in lieu of $4,000 bail.
  • Two robberies were reported this weekend. A victim reported Friday evening that while on West Rosemary somebody pushed them to the ground and stole their wallet, which included $150 cash. Saturday morning, someone else reported getting held at gunpoint and robbed of $900 cash.
  • Joey Levone Baldwin, 26, of 309 Sunset Drive, was arrested Saturday morning on East Franklin Street and charged with driving while impaired and failing to report an accident. According to a police report, Baldwin crashed his car after driving from Park Place onto an East Franklin Street sidewalk and the vehicle caught on fire. A passerby helped the driver get out of the car but then Baldwin reportedly tried to escape on foot. He refused to take a breathalyzer test, and was held in Orange County Jail in lieu of $1,500.
  • Jeffrey Daniel Brock, 28, 2 Crystal Oaks Court in Durham, was arrested for driving while impaired and driving on the wrong side of the highway Sunday morning at the intersection of Pope and Old Coach Roads. According to a police report, his blood-alcohol level was 0.20. He was held in Orange County Jail in lieu of $250 bail.
  • Shelley Elizabeth Bowen, 22, of 1606 E. Dogwood Drive in Mebane, was arrested Sunday morning on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and charged with driving while impaired. According to a police report, her blood-alcohol level was 0.14. She was released on a written promise to appear in court.
  • Mark Brandon Avinger, 22, of 8311 Massey Chapel Road in Durham, was arrested Sunday morning at Bright Sun Place and charged with driving while impaired. According to a police report, Avinger's blood-alcohol level was 0.08. He was released on a written promise to appear in court.
  • Martin Lorenzo Altamirano, 31, of 1005 Franklin St. in Winston-Salem, was arrested Sunday night at Bolinwood Drive and charged with first-degree burglary. According to a police report, Altamirano was identified by a witness after someone had broken into the witness' apartment while it was occupied. He was held in Orange County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail.
  • There were also two other Bolinwood Drive break-ins reported this weekend, both involving unforced entry and stolen goods, and investigations for these are ongoing.
  • Other home break-ins were reported over the weekend on Lanark Road and Old Barn Lane. Vehicle break-ins were reported at Melville Apartments, Glencrest Place, Umstead Drive, Eastowne Drive, Roosevelt Drive, Stinson Avenue and Fernwood Lane. Vehicles were reported vandalized on Trinity Court, White Oak Way, Stinson Avenue and at Laurel Ridge Apartments on N.C. 54.
