George Odell Barham of Carrboro died April 5 at Britthaven of Chapel Hill. He was 89.He was a veteran of World War II and served in the South Pacific.A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, April 10, at 11 a.m. at Carrboro United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery in Carrboro.The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Walker's Funeral Home in Chapel Hill.Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Barham; a son, Kim Barham; a brother, Frank Barham; and two grand-daughters.Online condolences may be posted at www.walkersfuneralhome.com.
