Samuel Moyle Boone of Chapel Hill died May 5 at UNC Hospitals. He was 89.He was a native of Gates County and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired from the UNC Academic Affairs Library after 30 years. He also worked in the Perkins Library at Duke University for five years.A memorial service was conducted Saturday, May 10, in the chapel at Walker's Funeral Home in Chapel Hill.Survivors include his wife, Nancy Bates Boone; a daughter, Nancy Anne Boone of Chapel Hill; and a sister, Mary E.
