Bruce Lucien Paradis
Bruce Lucien Paradis, 63, of Siler City, died May 21 at Chatham Hospital in Siler City following a period of declining health.
Bruce was born Sept. 7, 1945, in Presque Isle, Maine, the son of Lucien Maurice Paradis and Artheline Theriault Paradis. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for more than 10 years, and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
Bruce was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Pittsboro Branch.
He is survived by his wife, Shelly Paradis of the residence; his mother, Artheline T. Paradis of Bristol, Conn.; and two brothers, Gary Joseph Paradis of Pittsboro and Jeffrey John Paradis of Bristol, Conn.
A service to celebrate Bruce's life will be held May 26 at 9 a.m. at from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Pittsboro Branch (in the Main Street Station complex), with President Timothy M. Hester officiating. Graveside rites will be held May 26 at 2 p.m. at Pine Lawn Memorial Park in Kinston.
Friends may visit with the family May 26 from 8 to 8:45 a.m. at the church, and at other times at the Paradis residence.

Charles Frank Hauser
Dr. Charles Frank (Chuck) Hauser, 74, died at his home Feb. 10, 2009.
He was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Duke University, where he was on the swim team. He attended the UNC-Chapel Hill and obtained his doctorate in organic chemistry from Brown University. His post doctorate work was completed in 1962 at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Chuck retired from Union Carbide following 30 years of service.
Surviving are his children, Karen Elaine Dillard of Mansfield Township, N.J., Steven Charles Hauser of Bellevue, Neb., Debra Faye Brant of Valrico, Fla., Sharon Frances Hauser of Charleston, W.Va., Rodney Wayne Chandler of Elgin, S.C., and Eric Keith Hauser of Tokyo, Japan; his sister, Frances Marguirette Grate of Pacific Grove, Calif.; nephew, Frank Edwards Yourison of Tucson, Ariz.; niece Joyce Krais of Manchester, N.J.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The memorial service to celebrate Chuck's life was held May 23 at Brown's Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Ray Gooch presiding.
Interment of Chuck's cremated remains was in the church memorial garden.

William Guthrie Kilpatrick Jr.
William Guthrie Kilpatrick Jr. (Bill), of Chapel Hill, passed away on May 19 at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Guthrie Kilpatrick Sr. and Ruth Wood Kilpatrick; and grandson, John Christopher Kilpatrick (Chris).
Bill is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carol Smith Kilpatrick, of the home; sons, William Guthrie Kilpatrick III and wife Charlotte, of Moncure, and Shayne Kilpatrick and wife Mellisa, of Graham; daughters, Tracy Kilpatrick, of Wilmington, and Kim Ellis and husband Scott, of Durham; and four grandchildren he loved dearly -- Taylor and Clay Ellis, and Hayden and Erin Kilpatrick.
A memorial service will be held at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Pittsboro on June 7 at 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, 1785 Mt. Gilead Church Road, Pittsboro, NC 27312; or to The American Cancer Society.
