Jacqueline Norma Solin Lynn died peacefully at home in Oceanside, Calif., on July 23, 2009. She was 74 years old.

Jackie was born in New York City on Sept. 19, 1934. After graduating from high school at 16, she worked as a bookkeeper in New York's Garment District, where she met her future husband, Max Lynn. They raised their children in Spring Valley, N.Y. and moved to California in 1983.

Following her husband's death a year later, Jackie recreated her life in a place she considered paradise.

She became a Californian, complaining of the cold when the temperature dropped to the 60s, yet never losing her New York accent.

She found love a second time around and spent the past nine years with Norm Borne. Among her many interests were chocolate, mah jongg, knitting, dancing, theater and their toy poodle.

Jackie will be missed by countless friends and family. She will particularly be missed by her children: Michele Lynn and husband Steve McConaughey of Chapel Hill; Mike Lynn and wife, Angela, of Midland Park, N.J.; and Debra Lynn and husband, Edgar Chavez of Lake Forest, Calif. In addition, she will be missed by her beloved grandsons, Elijah and McKinley Lynn and Kyle McConaughey; her brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Joanne Solin of Monroe, N.J.; and her partner, Norm Borne. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Lynn.

Jackie was laid to rest at El Camino Memorial Park in San Diego on July 24. A celebration of her life was held in Oceanside, Calif., on July 26 with another planned for New York in August.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jackie's memory to The Elizabeth Hospice, whose staff provided loving care and support during her final days.

Memorial donations may be sent to The Elizabeth Hospice, Inc., 150 West Crest Street, Escondido, CA 92025.
