JoAnne Cheek Erpelding of Pittsboro died April 3 at UNC Hospitals. She was 71.

She was born in Dunkirk, Ind., and was a retired registered nurse.

Service plans are incomplete.

Survivors include a son, Nick Erpelding of Sanford.

Arrangements are by Griffin Funeral Service of Pittsboro.
