He was born in Durham and retired from Chatham Mills following 42 years of service. He was a member of Columbus Lodge 102 AF & AM of Pittsboro and was a member of Hanks Chapel Church.

A celebration of his life was conducted Saturday, April 12, at Hanks Chapel Church by the Rev. Bob Wachs and the Rev. Ray Gooch. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Survivors include three daughters, Kay Jones of Fayetteville, Dianne Culp of Gold Hill and Ann Jones of Pittsboro; a son, Danny Jones of Pittsboro; and five grandchildren.
