Marthanelle Porter Luttrell died April 19 after a period of declining health. She was 87.

She was born in Georgia and moved to Ohio, where she lived for 70 years and worked with and retired from the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services in 1986. She moved to North Carolina in 1994.

A memorial service will be held at Triangle Presbyterian Church in Durham on Saturday, April 26, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church.

Survivors include a brother, Gerald Porter of Pinehurst; a son, Roger Luttrell of Moore, S.C.; a daughter, Rebecca Vanke of Chapel Hill; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
