Jane Dozier Dicks Connelly of Chapel Hill died April 22 at Carolina Meadows Retirement Community. She was 95.

She was born in Greensboro and was educated at Salem Academy and William & Mary College.

She served in the Women's Auxiliary Air Corps, which later became the Women's Army Corps, during World War II. After the war, she was a civilian employee of the Department of the Army, working in Special Services, which provided recreation and education for troops worldwide. She served for several years in Japan and the Philippines before leaving the Army Department.

She received a bachelor's degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and worked in the political science department of UNC-Chapel Hill and for George Washington University in Washington, D.C. At the conclusion of her professional career, she was employed by the chancellor of Georgetown University's Medical Center.

A memorial service is planned.
