Since June 12, no WUNC-TV (Channel 4) signal has reached our rabbit-eared, uncabled household, even though we have dutifully hooked up a converter box. And we live in the heart of Blue Heaven! This lack of ethereal connection must mean that God a: wants us to get cable; or, b: wants us to stop watching those hoary old BBC re-runs and read more books. The advantage to our signal-free state? We will never again have to listen to the frequent, extended, and truly inane WUNC-TV fundraisers.
