Triangle Tip-Off

Basketball Luncheon: All four NCAA Div.I men's basketball coaches in the Triangle (Duke's Mike Krzyzewski of Duke, Sydney Lowe of N.C. State, NCCU's LeVelle Moton and Roy Williams of defending NCAA champion North Carolina) will appear at the event, starting at 11:30 a.m. at the Sheraton Imperial in the RTP. Proceeds from the event will go to benefit the coaches' favorite charities. Tables may be purchased by calling 919-678-1651 or online at the Triangle Sports Commission at web site at . www.trianglesportscommission.com. Individual seats are $60 and tables of 10 are $550.

Heels 4 Hope

On Halloween morning, Saturday, UNC's Granville Towers will host the Heels 4 Hope 5K road race, benefiting the Lineberger Cancer Research Center, Push America, and the Arc of Orange County. For more information, visit their web site at www.heels4hope.com.

Spook-tacular Cycling

The Habitat Halloween Bike Ride starts off Oct. 31 at 8:31 p.m. at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in downtown Durham (just as the moon rises high in the sky), offering options of rides from 31 up to 100 miles. Cross Country: the ACC Championships highlight a full day of running at WakeMed Park in Cary, with the college teams starting in the morning, followed by the N.C. high school regionals in the afternoon.

The City of Oaks Marathon and Rex Healthcare Half-marathon www.cityofoaksmarathon.com) are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1 in Raleigh.

ACC Soccer

The ACC Women's Championship will be decided , featuring defending NCAA champion North Carolina and five teams currently ranked among the nation's Top 10. The tournament opens in Cary's WakeMed Soccer Park with four quarterfinal games on Wednesday, Nov. 4. The semifinals are set for Friday evening, Nov. 6, and the title game will be Sunday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m.

NOVEMBER 5

Big Ten- ACC Alumni Golf Challenge

The Governor Club's third annual match-play event, featuring alums of all the Big 10 and ACC schools, will be held Nov. 12 on the GCGC course, a Jack Nicklaus 27-hole beauty that winds through the wooded hills of North Chatham. Even non-golfers enjoy the spectacular view overlooking the Coastal Plain from Edwards Mountain.

The Eve Carson Memorial 5K road race is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 21, starting at 10 a.m. from South Building on UNC's campus. The event celebrates the leadership of former UNC Student Body President of Eve Carson, who was killed in 2008. For more information, visit www.educationforeve.com.

The B2G2

The "Double B" Gallop and Gorge 8K road race, starting from the Fleet Feet Carrboro Store at 8 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 26, marks the last of three events in the Cardinal Track Club's ( www.cardinaltrack.com) Tour de Carrboro.

Reindeer Run

The fall race season in Chapel Hill-Carrboro actually ends in Pittsboro with the fifth annual Active Chatham Reindeer Run 5K road race on Dec. 12. Awards to the top three men and women finishers, as well as three-deep in age groups. Visit www.chathamnc.org for more information.
