Free lessons

PGA Professional Frank Maynard III of UNC Finley Golf Course will offer free 10-minute lessons in May in conjunction with "PGA Free Lesson Month." Throughout May, more than 7,500 PGA teaching pros will offer the free lessons. To participate at Finley, amateur golfers may contact Maynard at 962-2349, or frankmaynard@uncaa.unc.edu.

"PGA Free Lesson Month is a great opportunity for local non-golfers to come out and get introduced to the game of golf, or for existing golfers to focus on any area they want to improve," said Maynard. "We welcome all those who would like to participate and encourage them to bring a friend or family member and come out and have some fun, regardless of skill level."

In addition to getting a free lesson, every golfer who takes part and turns in their PGA Free Lesson Card will be entered for a chance to win a Grand-Prize sweepstakes package, which includes a three-day, two-night golf getaway to PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla., including round-trip economy airfare, hotel accommodations and a custom-fit set of Nike clubs. Sweepstakes cards will be available at the UNC Finley Golf Course or look for one in the May issue of Golf Digest, the May-June issue of Golf For Women or the April 6 issue of Golf World.
