The Swim-A-Thon and Wacky Relay Day at Koury Natatorium was held July 12. Teams showed team spirit in written messages and temporary tattoos on their bodies. The annual fundraiser represented a calm before the storm of sorts, with hundreds of youths ages 18 and under filling Koury again July 19 for the all-day Chapel Hill Summer Swim League Championship Meet. Body drawings, collages of beach towels and between-race snacks are all staples of the annual event, which represents the culmination of the local summer swim season.
