The Lab! Theater will present Shakespeare’s “As You Like It” Friday through Tuesday in the Elizabeth Price Kenan Theatre of the Center for Dramatic Art on the UNC campus.
The projection is directed by Matthew Baldiga, a senior dramatic arts and political science major, and features student actors. The production involves undergraduates, graduates, faculty and Playmakers Repertory Company staff.
The Lab! Theatre, in its 61st season, is the oldest student-run theatre company at UNC. Dedicated to artistic achievement and social opportunity, the Lab! Theatre is entirely student produced, directed, acted, designed and crewed.
“As You Like It” is a pastoral comedy that deals with love, disguise, and discovery. The plot centers around two cousins, Celia and Rosalind, who flee into the magical forest of Arden and disguise themselves when the Kingdom is usurped by the tyrant Duke Frederick.
What follows is a series of misadventures and mistaken identities as love tries to find its true course.
Shows will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8:15 p.m.; Monday at 4 and 8:15 p.m.; and Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Admission is free; donations are appreciated.
