The streets and businesses of downtown Carrboro will come alive with music Sunday with the 12th annual Carrboro Music Festival. More than 160 performing acts, ranging from solo acts to a 17-piece orchestra, will play at 24 venues -- music clubs, restaurants, front porches and parking lots (there's even one venue, outside Fitch Lumber Company, just for high school rock bands) all day long. Whatever you fancy musically, somebody somewhere in Carrboro will be playing it: blues, bluegrass, funk, jazz, pop, rock, world and soul, yes, but also "mad scientist and robot girl rock" "lounge-a-delic" and "left handed puppie music." Puddleduck, Skippy Skip, Chocolate Martini Therapy and The Schmoo will all be there. You should too. And, as always, it's all free.
