During the season's final Last Fridays celebration in downtown Hillsborough, the Hillsborough Gallery of Art, 121 N. Churton St., will open a new exhibition with a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. "Empirical Wanderings" features paintings by Linda Carmel, jewelry by Mirinda Kossoff and blown glass by Pringle Teetor. The show will run through Oct. 24. The gallery features fine arts and crafts by the gallery's member artists, including paintings, sculpture, photography, pottery, metal work, turned wood, fused glass, blown glass, fiber arts and jewelry. 732-5001, www.hillsboroughgallery.com.
