David Mamet wrote "Glengarry Glen Ross" based in part on his experiences working in an office in the late 1960s, but the insights reflected in his Pulitzer Prize-winning play apply eerily well to the uncertain economic situation today. Deep Dish Theater Company will present "Glengarry Glen Ross" at its theater in University Mall starting Friday and running through Nov. 14. "The play is a wild ride through desperate economic times," said Deep Dish artistic director Paul Frellick, who will direct the production. "Although it was first produced over 25 years ago, it couldn't feel any more contemporary." The theater will present post-performance discussions on Nov. 1 and Nov. 5. Dramaturg Karen Blansfeld will give a pre-show talk on Oct. 30, and the Deep Dish Book series presented in conjunction with the play will discuss Clyde Edgerton's "The Bible Salesman" on Nov. 12. Information and tickets are available at 968-1515 or www.deepdishtheater.org.
