The Carrboro High School drama department will present its first-ever musical this weekend -- and then take the ambitious step of taking the show on the road.CHS will present "Seussical the Musical," a romp through many of the stories of Dr. Seuss, Saturday and Sunday, March 15 and 16, at the school. Monday and Tuesday the cast and crew will pack up the backdrops, platforms, props and costumes and take the whole show to several other schools. The first stop is just down the road, at Culbreth Middle School, on Monday. On Tuesday the crowd will do two shows -- one at Scroggs Elementary School and the other at McDougle."We're very excited to reach out to the young people of our community," said Brooke Linefsky, director of Carrboro's drama department. "As a new school, we have the unique opportunity to meet our future students early and invite them to be a part of our production with interactive moments before, during and after the show."Fifteen students will play more than 50 characters taken from many of Seuss' popular children's books. The public performances will be Saturday at 3 and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m in the CHS cafe commons. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults.
